….First Lady urges beneficiaries to reciprocate gestures with good results

Ekiti State Government has distributed free JAMB e-registration PINs to about 2,500 students seeking admission into various tertiary institutions in the country.

Wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi who flagged off the PINs distribution exercise in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, said the programme would assist indigenes who already possessed requisite qualifications for the examination.

The Governor’s wife disclosed that the state government had committed seventeen million, two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N17,250,000) to purchase the JAMB PINs.

Erelu Fayemi said: “It is an assurance that the present administration will not leave any stone unturned in preparing the future leaders for the challenges ahead.

“This singular act, if effectively utilised, will permanently liberate the candidates from the shackles of ignorance, abject poverty and backwardness in life”, she added.

The First Lady urged parents to take advantage of the gesture by encouraging their wards to partake in the exercise as it would relieve them of the financial burden of purchasing the JAMB pin.

Erelu Fayemi urged the students never to take the opportunity for granted because it is free.

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Dr (Mrs) Bimpe Aderiye, represented by the Special Adviser, Technical and Girl-child Education, Professor Francisca Aladejana noted that the gesture was enough to inspire the beneficiaries towards attaining greatness.

She added that the government’s expectation from each beneficiary is a good result emanating from scholarship and good comportment.
